Services Offered

The bond with your dog is made of countless shared moments—playing at a local park, walking the trails, or just resting together at home. When age or illness takes its toll, the decision to consider dog euthanasia is a final, selfless act of love.

Our in-home service allows you to skip the anxiety of a clinical setting. Instead of a stressful car ride, your dog can relax in their favourite spot, surrounded by the familiar comforts of home and the people they trust. We are here to ensure the process of putting your dog to sleep is handled with the compassion and gentleness your loyal friend deserves.

Cats are deeply connected to their home, finding security in its familiar routines and spaces. For a cat who is unwell, leaving that sanctuary can cause significant distress. Our cat euthanasia service in Waterloo is designed to honour their need for peace and familiarity.

We conduct our visit with quiet sensitivity, allowing your cat to remain in their favourite spot—a cozy bed, a warm lap, or a sunlit window. This unhurried and respectful approach ensures their final moments are filled with comfort and love, not fear. It is a peaceful passing that reflects the gentle nature of your beloved companion.

Start The Quality-of-life assessment tool

Our Pet Quality-of-Life Scale offers a gentle, yet objective, guide to help you lovingly assess your cherished companion’s well-being. This compassionate tool provides a clear perspective on their quality of life, perfectly complementing the expert advice from your trusted veterinarian. Together, these resources empower you to make informed decisions that truly honor your pet’s comfort and best interests.

Our Aftercare Options

After your pet has passed, we continue to support you by handling all aftercare arrangements with the utmost dignity. We work with trusted local partners to provide professional cremation services that align with your family’s wishes.

You have the choice of several options:

  • Communal Cremation: Your pet is cremated with other beloved pets, and their ashes are scattered respectfully in a dedicated space.

  • Private Cremation: Your pet is cremated individually, and their ashes are returned to you in a memorial urn as a lasting tribute.

We will manage the transportation of your pet with care, allowing you to focus on honouring the life you shared. For families searching for pet euthanasia near me in Waterloo, our compassionate team is here to provide support.

What to expect:

Our primary goal is to create a calm and supportive atmosphere. When our veterinarian arrives at your Waterloo home, she will take the time to explain each step and answer any questions you may have. We proceed at a pace that is comfortable for you, allowing your family plenty of time to say your goodbyes.

The process involves two gentle injections. The first is a sedative that helps your pet drift into a deep and peaceful sleep, ensuring they feel no pain or anxiety. Once your pet is fully relaxed and you are ready, the final medication is administered, allowing them to pass away quickly and gracefully. It is a humane process designed to feel like a quiet and gentle transition.

frequently asked questions

The cost for the visit will vary depending on the size of your pet, the distance driven, and other factors such as the need for additional time or medications. The in-home euthanasia service includes the veterinary visit to your home, a brief assessment, and the sedation & euthanasia procedure. Additionally, based on your aftercare selection, the cost may include, cremation or aquamation, transportation, and keepsakes.

It’s completely natural to question if the time is right. If you need additional clarity, you may find our Quality-of-Life Tool helpful, or you may wish to pursue a Quality-of-life assessment with one of our trusted veterinarians for further guidance.

Should you schedule a euthanasia with us, our veterinarian will compassionately assess your companion upon arrival. If they feel euthanasia is not the most appropriate path at this time, they will discuss this openly and honestly with you.

We understand this is a tender time. Your veterinarian will be present in your home for 20-60 minutes, allowing ample space and time for you to say goodbye and be with your companion in a way that feels most comfortable and peaceful.

During your appointment, the vet will confirm your aftercare selection. If you opt for cremation or aquamation services, the vet will handle your pet’s transportation from your home and will care for your pet’s body until they are respectfully transferred to the appointed aftercare provider.

Peaceful Passing’s priority is to accommodate our patients and we can usually have a veterinarian available for same day emergency visits. However, Peaceful Passing is not a 24 hour emergency service. If this is a serious emergency, we recommend contacting your regular veterinary clinic or the nearest veterinary emergency facility.
