what Pet Parents are Saying
Christine K2025-08-06Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had to make the difficult decision to euthanize our beloved dog after she was diagnosed with cancer where treatment was not an option. This company was referred to us by our vet. I was very pleased to be able to set up our appointment online as it was an incredibly difficult day, and making phone calls would have been difficult for me. From the moment I went online to getting her remains back was absolutely flawless. The vet who came on site, Dr. Suzanne I believe was her name, was incredibly kind, patient and caring. Our dog went in peace surrounded by her family. I hate that we had to do this, but am so grateful to Dr Suzanne for making the process easier. Don't hesitate to use this service if you find yourself in this situation. Marci Buckiewicz2025-08-02Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Amazing what a sweet heart Dr Susanne is thank you so much, made things so much easier, letting our sweet heart go with dignity, and love until the end. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts 🐶🐶🐶❤️❤️🙏❤️🥰❤️ Carolyn Hill2025-08-01Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dr. Shanna was amazing. She helped us through a difficult time, saying goodbye to our Scooter. He passed quietly and gently, cuddled up on my lap at home, surrounded by loving hands petting him. So much nicer than shoving him in a crate and driving to the vet, even though our vet is also wonderful. This was so much better at home and comfortable. Thank you again. Ibere and Marcia Tammy T2025-07-30Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. On June 2, 2025, Dr. Shanna Clinch came to our home to help us say goodbye to our sweet cat Timbit, who was suffering from diabetes and cancer. I cannot express how grateful we are for the compassion, care, and professionalism Dr. Clinch showed during such an emotional and difficult time. She was incredibly kind, patient, and gentle with Timbit—and with us. She answered all of our questions thoroughly and gave us the time and space we needed to say our goodbyes. Her presence brought comfort and calm to a heartbreaking moment. It takes a truly special person to do this kind of work with such grace and empathy. We are so thankful for Dr. Clinch and highly recommend her to anyone facing the painful decision of in-home euthanasia for their beloved pet. Thank you, Dr. Clinch, for helping Timbit pass peacefully, surrounded by love in her own home. Ron Grimm2025-07-26Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. It was a very difficult decision to put down our beloved dog. With his fear issues towards people and aggression towards other dogs and cats we didn't want our last memories of him to be tarnished by a stressful visit to a Veterinarian Clinic. Peaceful Passing was the ideal solution. Our dog was in the home he knew and loved and with us helping him along his journey. The team at Peaceful Passing was amazing and emphatic from the first contact till the days after. Laura was amazing arranging for our needs. Dr Graham knew just how to handle our dog and we didn't feel rushed. It truly was a peaceful passing for our beloved dog in difficult circumstances. I would highly recommend Peaceful Passing to anyone who needs to put down their pet with the care and compassion they deserve. Mitchell Burton2025-07-25Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We recently went through every Pet Owner's most difficult moment. We had to say goodbye to our beloved 19 year old cat Zoey. We opted for having her put to sleep at home as opposed to stressing her out at the vet for her final moments. In the end we chose Peaceful Passing to help us say goodbye, and I'm grateful we did. The price was fair compared to their competitors, and they were quick to respond and had the gentle touch you expect for a situation like this. I will mention they made a small mistake on the original quote, so I had to send an updated payment twice, but as it seemed to be a genuine mistake i will not hold it against them. The main reason I will recommend them though is because of Dr. Shanna. The veterinarian who arrived for the appointment. Dr. Shanna is the veterinarian you hope you get to help end your pets suffering. She was on time, extremely compassionate to us and our pet, and brought a sense of dignity and respect to thus experience with her perfect bedside manner. She made this sad experience manageable and helped ensure we got to say goodbye to our cat on out own terms. Based on my experience I would absolutely recommend Dr. Shanna and Peaceful Passing to others Marilynn Arbuckle2025-07-25Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We were able to provide a final act of love to our beloved dog by having the vet come to our house to end her suffering. She passed on her own bed and was not in fear. The vet was very compassionate and kind. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. What to expect:
Our primary goal is to create a calm and supportive atmosphere. When our veterinarian arrives at your Waterloo home, she will take the time to explain each step and answer any questions you may have. We proceed at a pace that is comfortable for you, allowing your family plenty of time to say your goodbyes.
The process involves two gentle injections. The first is a sedative that helps your pet drift into a deep and peaceful sleep, ensuring they feel no pain or anxiety. Once your pet is fully relaxed and you are ready, the final medication is administered, allowing them to pass away quickly and gracefully. It is a humane process designed to feel like a quiet and gentle transition.

frequently asked questions
What is included in the cost?
The cost for the visit will vary depending on the size of your pet, the distance driven, and other factors such as the need for additional time or medications. The in-home euthanasia service includes the veterinary visit to your home, a brief assessment, and the sedation & euthanasia procedure. Additionally, based on your aftercare selection, the cost may include, cremation or aquamation, transportation, and keepsakes.
Will you assess my pet upon arrival?
It’s completely natural to question if the time is right. If you need additional clarity, you may find our Quality-of-Life Tool helpful, or you may wish to pursue a Quality-of-life assessment with one of our trusted veterinarians for further guidance.
Should you schedule a euthanasia with us, our veterinarian will compassionately assess your companion upon arrival. If they feel euthanasia is not the most appropriate path at this time, they will discuss this openly and honestly with you.
How long does the appointment take?
We understand this is a tender time. Your veterinarian will be present in your home for 20-60 minutes, allowing ample space and time for you to say goodbye and be with your companion in a way that feels most comfortable and peaceful.
Will the vet take my pet with them after the appointment?
During your appointment, the vet will confirm your aftercare selection. If you opt for cremation or aquamation services, the vet will handle your pet’s transportation from your home and will care for your pet’s body until they are respectfully transferred to the appointed aftercare provider.
Are you available for emergencies?
Peaceful Passing’s priority is to accommodate our patients and we can usually have a veterinarian available for same day emergency visits. However, Peaceful Passing is not a 24 hour emergency service. If this is a serious emergency, we recommend contacting your regular veterinary clinic or the nearest veterinary emergency facility.
