Services Offered
A Loving Farewell for Your Dog
Your dog has been a faithful part of your life in Kitchener, sharing in family moments and offering unconditional love. When their journey becomes too difficult, choosing dog euthanasia is a final act of kindness to end their suffering.
Our service for putting a dog to sleep at home eliminates the stress of a final trip to a clinic. Your loyal companion can remain in their favourite spot—their bed, a cozy rug, or your garden—in a calm and familiar environment. We are dedicated to ensuring their farewell is as peaceful and loving as the life you shared together.
A Gentle Goodbye for Your Cat
Cats find deep security and comfort in their home. For a cat who is frail or unwell, being removed from this sanctuary can cause significant anxiety. Our cat euthanasia service in Kitchener is designed to honour their need for a peaceful and familiar setting.
We conduct our visit with quiet professionalism and sensitivity, allowing your cat to rest wherever they feel most comfortable—on your lap, in a favourite chair, or curled up in a sunbeam. This gentle approach ensures their final moments are filled with warmth and affection, free from fear. It is a dignified passing that respects the special place your cat holds in your heart.

Aftercare, Paw Prints, Urns and Memorial Items

Virtual and In-Home Quality-of-Life Assessments
Not sure if it’s time yet? Understanding your pet’s medical condition is crucial, but it’s also important to consider how you and your loved ones want to spend your pet’s last days together. We can help by assessing your pet’s quality-of-life and providing guidance during this difficult process.

Start The Quality-of-life assessment tool
Our Pet Quality-of-Life Scale offers a gentle guide to help you assess your beloved companion’s well-being. It provides a compassionate and objective perspective of their quality-of-life, complementing the advice of your trusted veterinarian. Together, these resources ensure that your decisions are rooted in your pet’s best interest and comfort.
Our Aftercare Options
Following your pet’s passing, we continue to support you by managing all aftercare arrangements with dignity. We partner with trusted local professionals to provide caring cremation services, handling every detail according to your family’s wishes.
You can choose the option that best honours your pet:
Communal Cremation: Your pet is cremated with other cherished pets, and their ashes are scattered respectfully.
Private Cremation: Your pet is cremated individually, and their ashes are carefully returned to you in an urn of your choice as a lasting memorial.
We will handle the transportation of your pet with the utmost care, allowing you to focus on grieving and remembering your companion. When you need compassionate pet euthanasia in Kitchener, our team is here to help.

What to expect:
Our commitment is to provide a serene and supportive experience. When our veterinarian arrives at your Kitchener home, she will begin by gently explaining the process and answering all of your questions. We move at your family’s pace, ensuring you have the private time you need to say your goodbyes.
The procedure involves two injections. The first is a sedative that allows your pet to fall into a deep and peaceful sleep, ensuring they are free from any pain or distress. Once your pet is fully relaxed and your family is ready, the final medication is given, allowing them to pass away quickly and gracefully. The entire process is humane and designed to feel like a gentle transition.

frequently asked questions
What is included in the cost?
The cost for the visit will vary depending on the size of your pet, the distance driven, and other factors such as the need for additional time or medications. The in-home euthanasia service includes the veterinary visit to your home, a brief assessment, and the sedation & euthanasia procedure. Additionally, based on your aftercare selection, the cost may include, cremation or aquamation, transportation, and keepsakes.
Will you assess my pet upon arrival?
How long does the appointment take?
We understand this is a tender time. Your veterinarian will be present in your home for 20-60 minutes, allowing ample space and time for you to say goodbye and be with your companion in a way that feels most comfortable and peaceful.
Will the vet take my pet with them after the appointment?
During your appointment, the vet will confirm your aftercare selection. If you opt for cremation or aquamation services, the vet will handle your pet’s transportation from your home and will care for your pet’s body until they are respectfully transferred to the appointed aftercare provider.
Are you available for emergencies?
Peaceful Passing’s priority is to accommodate our patients and we can usually have a veterinarian available for same day emergency visits. However, Peaceful Passing is not a 24 hour emergency service. If this is a serious emergency, we recommend contacting your regular veterinary clinic or the nearest veterinary emergency facility.
What Pet Parents are saying
Posted on Google Ana NoriegaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We are deeply grateful to Peaceful Passing Home Pet Euthanasia and Dr. Brooke Manderson for the care and compassion they showed us during one of the hardest moments of our lives. Dr. Manderson came to our home and treated Vito, and our whole family, with incredible kindness, patience, and respect. There was no rush and no added stress. She gave us all the time we needed to be with Vito, say goodbye, and go through the moment in our own way. She was understanding, gentle, and supportive throughout the entire process. Losing Vito was heartbreaking, but being able to say goodbye to him peacefully at home, surrounded by love and without stress, meant more to us than we can express. We will always be grateful to Dr. Manderson for the dignity and compassion she gave Vito in his final moments, and for the care she showed us as a family. I wholeheartedly recommend Peaceful Passing to anyone facing this incredibly difficult decision. Their compassion and support made an unbearable moment a little more peaceful.Posted on Google Caroll ScanlanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. There actually needs to be more stars for how I feel about Peaceful Passings and their exceptional care! On June 4th, Dr. Shanna assisted my dearest Marigold, aka Goldie, Golden Bear to cross the rainbow bridge. Such a heartbreaking day was made so sacred and possible thanks to her touching care for Marigold, her brother Merlin and myself. We shared tears and some giggles and that moment that all pet owners dread. Thank you Dr. Shanna for allowing us the space necessary to say goodbye to such a beautiful and loving soul. She crossed with grace and ease, and in my arms as she had been so many times. This is my second time using Peaceful Passings to say goodbye and I will never consider alternatives. Our pets deserve the best when they depart, as they have so freely given love and joy while in their furry bodies. Peaceful Passings honoured the life of Marigold by the respectful and loving care to her and all of us, in the comfort her favourite place, home. We miss her deeply and thank all at Peaceful Passings for the beyond 5 star care!Posted on Google mcduffcoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dr. Graham helped us say goodbye to my mother’s 20 year old cat. Service was fast, compassionate, and so professional! To not have to add the stress frail animal to the vet for this service and letting them be comfortable and secure in their own surroundings is a blessing. Cost is comparable as well. I highly recommend this service for these difficult times.Posted on Google Chloe StewartTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My family couldn't have asked for a better experience during a heartbreaking time. From the beginning, scheduling a last minute appointment with Client Care was great - Laura was incredibly understanding and quick to reply. Communication throughout the day was great. Dr. Shanna was the best person we could have hoped for to comfort our senior cat in her final moments.. Her compassion and kindness was very much appreciated, and I would recommend Peaceful Passing to anyone. Thank you to the entire staff.Posted on Google Nicole VaseyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. While it feels strange to write a review on one of the saddest days of my life, I think it's important to share the experience I had with Peaceful Passing. From the initial email inquiry to the in-home procedure, they handled every interaction with such care and compassion. We said goodbye to our cat, Homer, in our home on his favourite spot on the couch back in May. Dr. Shanna was wonderful throughout. She explained every step of the process and was so kind and compassionate not only to me and my partner, but especially to Homer. I have been recommending this service to anyone facing this difficult decision. On an already incredibly hard day, Dr. Shanna and the team at Peaceful Passing made the experience as peaceful, comfortable, and dignified as it could possibly be. Homer spent his last day lying in the garden in the sunshine before coming inside for one final snuggle on the couch. We couldn't have asked for a more loving goodbye.Posted on Google Cindi BrennanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. In one of the most difficult days of my life.
