A Dignified Goodbye for Your Dog
The life you’ve built with your dog in Oakville is full of memories—walks through lakeside parks, cozy evenings at home. When their health declines, the decision to consider dog euthanasia is a difficult but loving choice to end their pain. It is a final act of devotion to a loyal friend.
Our service for putting a dog to sleep at home allows your companion to be in their favourite bed, surrounded by familiar sights and smells, with their family close by. It avoids the anxiety of a clinic visit and allows their last moments to be calm and full of love, a farewell worthy of the joy they’ve brought you.
A Peaceful Passing for Your Cat
Cats cherish the comfort and safety of their own territory. For a cat who is unwell, the journey to a vet’s office can be deeply stressful. Our cat euthanasia service in Oakville is designed to respect your cat’s need for a peaceful, familiar environment.
We conduct our visit with quiet sensitivity, allowing your cat to rest on your lap, in a warm sunbeam, or wherever they feel most content. This gentle approach ensures their final moments are filled with warmth and love, not fear and anxiety. It is a dignified farewell that honours the special place your cat holds in your family.

Start The Quality-of-life assessment tool
Our Pet Quality-of-Life Scale offers a gentle guide to help you assess your beloved companion’s well-being. It provides a compassionate and objective perspective of their quality-of-life, complementing the advice of your trusted veterinarian. Our gentle Process: What to expect
A peaceful passing starts with a calm and supportive environment. When our veterinarian arrives at your Oakville home, she will walk you through the process and answer any questions you have. There is never a rush. We give you all the time you need to say goodbye in a way that feels right for you and your family.
The procedure involves two gentle injections. The first is a sedative to help your pet fall into a deep, peaceful sleep, so they won’t feel any discomfort. Once your pet is fully relaxed and you are ready, the final medication is given, which allows them to pass away gracefully. It is a humane and gentle process, designed to feel like quietly drifting off to sleep.

frequently asked questions
What is included in the cost?
The cost for the visit will vary depending on the size of your pet, the distance driven, and other factors such as the need for additional time or medications. The in-home euthanasia service includes the veterinary visit to your home, a brief assessment, and the sedation & euthanasia procedure. Additionally, based on your aftercare selection, the cost may include, cremation or aquamation, transportation, and keepsakes.
Will you assess my pet upon arrival?
How long does the appointment take?
We understand this is a tender time. Your veterinarian will be present in your home for 20-60 minutes, allowing ample space and time for you to say goodbye and be with your companion in a way that feels most comfortable and peaceful.
Will the vet take my pet with them after the appointment?
During your appointment, the vet will confirm your aftercare selection. If you opt for cremation or aquamation services, the vet will handle your pet’s transportation from your home and will care for your pet’s body until they are respectfully transferred to the appointed aftercare provider.
Are you available for emergencies?
Peaceful Passing’s priority is to accommodate our patients and we can usually have a veterinarian available for same day emergency visits. However, Peaceful Passing is not a 24 hour emergency service. If this is a serious emergency, we recommend contacting your regular veterinary clinic or the nearest veterinary emergency facility.
What Pet Parents are Saying

Everything from the initial contact to saying good bye was perfect and peaceful. Peaceful Passing and the individuals who work there, make this time meaningful and peaceful despite how difficult and challenging it is. Dr. Shanna was fabulous - she was understanding, kind and patient. Thank you so much for making Simon’s passing stress free for him. It really was the best way to honour and say goodbye to our Simon.Posted on Google Natasha CarterTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had to say goodbye to our beloved 19-year-old cat, Molson, today. He has been part of our family since my kids were babies, so making the decision to let him go was incredibly difficult. Dr. Dailley from Peaceful Passing was absolutely wonderful. She never rushed us, explained everything thoroughly, and made sure we were comfortable and ready every step of the way. Even when doubt crept in and the tears were flowing, she reassured us that Molson was ready and that we were making the right decision for him. I was honestly skeptical about having this done in our home, but I would never do it any other way now. Molson was completely relaxed in his own home, surrounded by the people who loved him. He was even purring until he peacefully fell asleep. There was no scary car ride, unfamiliar place, or antiseptic smells—Dr. Dailley was simply like a guest in our home, quietly guiding us through an incredibly difficult moment. From the very first phone call, the staff were kind and compassionate, even when I could barely speak through my tears. They responded within the timeframe promised on their website and got us in as soon as possible. Faced with an impossible, heartbreaking decision, this was the best decision I could have made in a no-win situation. Dr. Dailley made a terrible experience as peaceful and tolerable as it could possibly be. This is a premium service, and I would pay for it every single time. I have already recommended Peaceful Passing to our family and friends, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone facing the heartbreaking loss of a beloved pet. Thank you, Dr. Dailley, for giving our Molson such a peaceful goodbye. ❤️Posted on Google Marlene ThompsonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Amazing supportPosted on Google s sTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Absolutely wonderful experience during such a difficult time. Laura coordinated everything very efficiently in a short period of time on a holiday no less. Dr. Suzanne was incredible and we are very thankful for their efforts as this happened rather quickly. Would highly recommend.Posted on Google Erica NedelkoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our inquiry was answered in a very timely manner and an appointment was made to accommodate our needs and match our schedule. Dr Suzanne arrived at our home with a peaceful calm and explained the unfolding of what was to take place and answered our questions with compassion and reassurance. We actually needed an extra few minutes to settle our emotions and she kindly gave us space until I went to let her know we were ready. We (adults and children) all felt heard and while we were all so very sad the time had come that we had to say our goodbyes to our beloved cat, we knew we had made the right choice and decision for our cat’s end-of-life care with Dr Suzanne. She let us know what she was doing as she helped us say goodbye. Although it happens rather quickly, we were not hurried and given all the time we needed. A sweet basket was brought to carry our dear cat away. Of course there is a bit of paper work to review at the beginning and that was done with little disruption as possible, ensuring nothing would interrupt once we entered the sacred space of saying goodbye. While we hope not to have to go through this process again, we do love our pets and if and when we have this privilege again to help our pet(s) cross that rainbow bridge, we will be calling Dr Suzanne. Thank you Peaceful Passing🫶Posted on Google Kristy SargentTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
