Services Offered
A Loving Farewell for Your Dog
Your dog has been a faithful part of your life in Kitchener, sharing in family moments and offering unconditional love. When their journey becomes too difficult, choosing dog euthanasia is a final act of kindness to end their suffering.
Our service for putting a dog to sleep at home eliminates the stress of a final trip to a clinic. Your loyal companion can remain in their favourite spot—their bed, a cozy rug, or your garden—in a calm and familiar environment. We are dedicated to ensuring their farewell is as peaceful and loving as the life you shared together.
A Gentle Goodbye for Your Cat
Cats find deep security and comfort in their home. For a cat who is frail or unwell, being removed from this sanctuary can cause significant anxiety. Our cat euthanasia service in Kitchener is designed to honour their need for a peaceful and familiar setting.
We conduct our visit with quiet professionalism and sensitivity, allowing your cat to rest wherever they feel most comfortable—on your lap, in a favourite chair, or curled up in a sunbeam. This gentle approach ensures their final moments are filled with warmth and affection, free from fear. It is a dignified passing that respects the special place your cat holds in your heart.
Pet Transportation and Cremation or Aquamation Service

Aftercare, Paw Prints, Urns and Memorial Items
Choosing your aftercare is a personal choice. We offer cremation and aquamation as well as memorial items such as paw prints, urns, jewelry, and other keepsakes.
Virtual and In-Home Quality-of-Life Assessments
Not sure if it’s time yet? Understanding your pet’s medical condition is crucial, but it’s also important to consider how you and your loved ones want to spend your pet’s last days together. We can help by assessing your pet’s quality-of-life and providing guidance during this difficult process.

Start The Quality-of-life assessment tool
Our Pet Quality-of-Life Scale offers a gentle guide to help you assess your beloved companion’s well-being. It provides a compassionate and objective perspective of their quality-of-life, complementing the advice of your trusted veterinarian. Together, these resources ensure that your decisions are rooted in your pet’s best interest and comfort.
Our Aftercare Options
Following your pet’s passing, we continue to support you by managing all aftercare arrangements with dignity. We partner with trusted local professionals to provide caring cremation services, handling every detail according to your family’s wishes.
You can choose the option that best honours your pet:
Communal Cremation: Your pet is cremated with other cherished pets, and their ashes are scattered respectfully.
Private Cremation: Your pet is cremated individually, and their ashes are carefully returned to you in an urn of your choice as a lasting memorial.
We will handle the transportation of your pet with the utmost care, allowing you to focus on grieving and remembering your companion. When you need compassionate pet euthanasia in Kitchener, our team is here to help.

What to expect:
Our commitment is to provide a serene and supportive experience. When our veterinarian arrives at your Kitchener home, she will begin by gently explaining the process and answering all of your questions. We move at your family’s pace, ensuring you have the private time you need to say your goodbyes.
The procedure involves two injections. The first is a sedative that allows your pet to fall into a deep and peaceful sleep, ensuring they are free from any pain or distress. Once your pet is fully relaxed and your family is ready, the final medication is given, allowing them to pass away quickly and gracefully. The entire process is humane and designed to feel like a gentle transition.

frequently asked questions
What is included in the cost?
The cost for the visit will vary depending on the size of your pet, the distance driven, and other factors such as the need for additional time or medications. The in-home euthanasia service includes the veterinary visit to your home, a brief assessment, and the sedation & euthanasia procedure. Additionally, based on your aftercare selection, the cost may include, cremation or aquamation, transportation, and keepsakes.
Will you assess my pet upon arrival?
How long does the appointment take?
We understand this is a tender time. Your veterinarian will be present in your home for 20-60 minutes, allowing ample space and time for you to say goodbye and be with your companion in a way that feels most comfortable and peaceful.
Will the vet take my pet with them after the appointment?
During your appointment, the vet will confirm your aftercare selection. If you opt for cremation or aquamation services, the vet will handle your pet’s transportation from your home and will care for your pet’s body until they are respectfully transferred to the appointed aftercare provider.
Are you available for emergencies?
Peaceful Passing’s priority is to accommodate our patients and we can usually have a veterinarian available for same day emergency visits. However, Peaceful Passing is not a 24 hour emergency service. If this is a serious emergency, we recommend contacting your regular veterinary clinic or the nearest veterinary emergency facility.

It made the hardest task in life flow as good as it possibly could under the circumstances. We were grateful to be able to be in our own home with our family present. Thank you Peaceful Passing for holding us up through this painful process. <3Posted on Murray SchniderTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had the privilege to watch Dr Graham perform the euthanasia service on my grand dog Boomer. She exercised caring compassion and gentleness while attending to Boomer, This is an excellent company that offers a stress free at home environment for your pet to pass. No need for the pet to have to make an uncomfortable trip to the vet. Thank you for providing this valuable service for end of life for pets.Posted on ivana knezovicTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have dealt with Peaceful Passing twice now and they have been amazing each time. Unfortunately for the first time, time was of the essence and my dog could not make it to her appointment. They were very understanding when we had to cancel it. The second time around, we had to make the difficult decision to put our cat down as he had a very aggressive and invasive form of cancer. This was very stressful and upsetting but the staff at Peaceful Passing were very compassionate and caring from start to finish. Dr. Suzanne was amazing and very personable when she came over. She was very comforting and calm which helped my family out a lot. I can’t thank her enough. My cat really hated going to the vet so passing away at home was the best, kind and loving thing we could’ve done. I would recommend this to anyone in their time of needPosted on David BakerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Thanks to Dr Graham Boomer was able to pass comfortably from the place he loved to be, at home surrounded by familiarity and love. She was so incredibly kind and caring with him. We couldn’t imagine doing this any other way. Thanks from the bottom of our hearts!Posted on Beth HolcombeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dr Graham and the entire team was so wonderful in helping me get through what was absolutely one of the worst days of my life. She helped my beautiful soul cat of 18 years Monkey pass so peacefully. I was worried that it would be awkward since it was her first time meeting me but she made me so comfortable and reassured me that I was doing the right thing for her. Laura was also so compassionate listening to me cry and ask to move up the appointment because Monkey was declining quickly and I didn’t think she could wait another 2.5 hours. While I hope I don’t need their services again for a very long time with my other cat, I will not hesitate to schedule with them when that time comes and will recommend them to anyone who needs a team of people who truly just want the best for the smallest members of your family. Dr. Gallant made an excruciatingly painful event, calm, gentle and caring. I can’t thank her enough for helping our beloved dog, Hawkeye, pass. We had the whole family there and he was eating a chocolate chip muffin . It was a loving send off which is exactly what we wanted. Thank-you ❤️Posted on JAYNE SQUIRESTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. As upsetting and heartbreaking this time can be me and my family wanted to sincerely thank Dr Shanna for coming into my home and helping our beloved Molly Mae cross the rainbow bridge. Dr Shanna showed nothing but respect and compassion and we are truly grateful. Having Peaceful Passings involved was the best decision and we wouldn’t have had it any other way. Thank you again ❤️Posted on Rachel NancekivellTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. They are so kind and professional.
